About Me
Hi,
my name’s Mark Chaloner and I am a barrister whose practice is 90% (or so) family law. I act in private law and public law matters, ie for parents in contact or residence disputes as well as conducting care proceedings on behalf of parents, guardians or local authroities. I also do domestic violence injunctions and ancillary relief (the division of money on divorce) as well as trusts of land claims (for separating cohabitants).
I’m 27 and live in Southampton, working all over the South Coast and Southern area - except when I have a row with the clerks and then I can be anywhere!
In terms of history, I went to school in Bedfordshire and then was lucky enough to go to uni in Cambridge, before heading to London for Bar School. I was called to the bar in July 2002 after completing the BVC (Bar Course) and underwent pupillage at 3 Pump Court in London and Winchester before securing tenancy at 12 College Place, Southampton, where I still practice.
In my spare time I try to get fit (it’s a long-term project in the sense that I’ve been trying for two years with little progress!), and am learning to play golf as well as attempting to master Spanish and Hebrew. I live with my girlfriend Malky.
